One of these rays of hope is the Basic Income for Artists scheme being fully consolidated and announced. We want to congratulate and thank the [https://www.instagram.com/campaign4arts/ National Campaign for the Arts]  on their hard work they have put in to get this over the line. While it's not everything was got that was fought and dreamed for, its a major step in the right direction and we hope the government will stick to their word and expand the scheme over the coming years.

Praxis Artists’ Union has published a statement responding to the ongoing loss of artist-run and independent spaces in Ireland, framing it as a structural failure rather than a series of isolated incidents. Drawing on member surveys, the piece points to rising rents, insecure leases, and the absence of long-term cultural infrastructure as key factors driving artists out of cities — and, increasingly, out of the country. It’s a clear call for systemic change, not last-minute interventions once spaces are already gone.
