Conan McIvor | The Estate Exhibition | Pallas Projects/Studios
In this interview, Conan delves into the inspirations and themes behind The Estate, an artwork that explores the lives of young working-class men in Belfast during the pandemic. Through elements of visual installation, theatre, social media, pop culture, music, and dance, the exhibition addresses complex issues such as masculinity, body image, emotional relationships, and perspectives on sexuality and gender.
Built using Unreal Engine 4, The Estate aims to engage a young male working-class audience often overlooked in the arts. The project captures their voices and experiences in familiar, colloquial language, creating a unique and relatable environment—think Grand Theft Auto meets Dublin Oldschool.
