As part of Sonorities Festival, Digital Arts Studios presents Live Organs, Mechanised Ghosts, an installation using computer-controlled organ pipes and balloons as air reserves.
Large balloons feed solenoid valves triggered by a computer, passing air into smaller lung-like balloons attached to organ pipes. This allows each note to swell, glide, and fade, creating a sound that sits between mechanical control and organic variation, with subtle glitches as air pressure fluctuates.
